Dometic TRT120E - 12V Roof Tent Ocean

The Dometic TRT120E is an electric opening roof tent for cars, vans and SUVs. It fits easily to any vehicle with suitable roof bars and can be removed in a few minutes so it doesn't affect fuel economy on journeys where it is not used.

The Dometic TRT120E features a 5cm thick, high-density foam mattress which is big enough to comfortably fit two people so a peaceful night’s sleep is guaranteed. It is also supplied with a lightweight, telescopic aluminium ladder making entering the tent easy. The ladder packs up within the tent for travelling so you don't need to find space for it in the vehicle.

2 layer fabric construction provides excellent thermal insulation. Combined with the double layer windows and mesh ventilation screens this makes it comfortable in both hotter and colder climates, allowing air flow while keeping bugs out, or sealing up to keep it cosy inside.

When packed on the vehicle roof the TRT120E has a durable, water-proof PVC cover to protect it and ensure your bed is always dry on arrival at your campsite.

Compatibility

Your vehicle roof and your roof bars will each have a travelling weight limit and a stationary weight limit. Check your vehicle handbook and the roof bars specification for this information. The travelling weight limit needs to be at least 75kg for both the car and the roof bars. The static weight limit needs to be enough to support the roof tent itself, plus whoever is sleeping in it and any equipment. The Roof Tent weighs 59kg so add this to the weight of the people and any equipment. We recommend at least 250kg permissible static load for both vehicle and roof bars.

You will need at least 2 roof bars and these should be between 80cm and 180cm apart.

To operate the tent using the electric motor you will need a cigarette lighter type socket which supplies 12V DC electricity and 10Amps or more. This can be your own vehicle cigarette socket or a power pack but it must supply at lest 10 Amps.
