The Oceane was previously Trigano's entry level and best-selling family trailer tent and is now regularly available second hand. Made from the early 90's to 2008 there are slight differences in specification and features with each year. All Trigano Oceane were 4-berth Trailer Tents as standard with 2 double beds, a spacious awning and the option to upgrade to 8 berth with the addition of under-bed tents.
The Oceane model was available with 3 different awning options and was available with or without a kitchen unit.
The Trigano Oceane has a painted steel body trailer with soft PVC top cover. This opened out into a 4 berth cabin with 2 double beds on solid ply bed boards. Inside the trailer body, and accessed under the edge of the matresses, the Oceane has storage lockers along both sides of the trailer with space between the lockers on the trailer floor for carrying large items within the closed trailer.
The cabin of the Oceane could be opened and pitched by 1 person giving it an advantage over similar priced Cabanon and Conway trailers which have a more complex frame and opening system. The cabin of the Oceane could be pegged down and used on its own without the awning for overnight stops. it could also be fitted with 2 additional under-bed tents to make up to an 8 berth trailer tent.
The Oceane was sold in 240 (8ft) and 315 (10ft 6in) versions. The number indicated the length of the awning in cm which was supplied with the trailer. All Oceane awnings are 4.2m wide.
The Oceane awning front wall panel has a large window panel with a barn door to one side. the whole panel can be opened and rolled up to open the awning.
The left side panel (facing the tent) also had a large window and could be rolled up to further open the awning. The larger 315 awning also had a side door on this panel next to the cabin. The right hand wall had a large vented window to accommodate a kitchen.
Originally supplied with curtains and roof liners for cabin and awning. The awning roof liner of the larger 315 model had a drop down curtain which turned some of the extra space in to a segregated wardrobe area.
In addition to the standard 240 and 315 awnings, for a number of years there was also a 1.7m long extension awning available. The Oceane trailer was sometimes sold with this awning only which was know as the Mod 1 or Modular 1. However, this awning was also sold with an Oceane 240 or 315 as an awning extension. Since it can also be used on its own this provides a weekend / short trip awning option.
The Trigano Oceane could be bought in either STD spec (no kitchen) or GL version (with kitchen). Early GL versions would have a cooker and cupboard unit mounted on the A-frame at the front of the trailer with a PVC cover to protect it while travelling.
Later versions have a wider, rear mounted kitchen which formed the rear of the trailer and incorporated the light-board. This arrangement made room for a front storage box to be fitted to the A-frame. The kitchen would feature a sink, drainage board / work top, gas stove, grill and cupboard space. It extended the length of the trailer and increased the cupboard space in transit.
