Camperlands is proud to announce its appointment as
sole UK distributor for the Camplet range of trailer
tents. Camp-let joins the growing list of trailer tent
brands on offer at Camperlands, many of which are totally
unique to anything else on offer in the UK trailer tent
market today. The word unique can sometimes imply, the
existence of a degree of impracticality or lack of universal
appeal but this is certainly not true of the current
trailer tent range found at Camperlands and this includes
the latest Danish offering the Camp-let.
Camp-let production started in 1969 in a small town
called Arnum in southern Denmark. Like many successful
businesses the Camp-let was and still is, a family owned
concern. Manufacturing takes place from 2-modern factories,
where they also produce Euro Trailers and Mustang Horse
Trailers. According to Camp-let the name Camp-let translates
into, 'quick set up - quality and design'.
COMBINED TRAILER TENT AND FOLDING CAMPER
The Camp-let combines the best features of both folding
camper and trailer tent. The cabin section is non pegging
with a kitchen permanently attached to the trailer (no
heavy lifting), therefore it is a folding camper! The
trailer size is small and compact and is not to be confused
or compared to the much heavier and larger trailers
used by folding campers. A small compact trailer is
a big advantage over folding camper trailers, for towing,
storing and general handling. The Camp-let can be stored
on its side with the use of mobile side stores. Once
the Camp-let is on its side it could be wheeled into
the corner of the garage. The Camp-let has running water
and four models are fitted with one 12 volt socket.
Why not equip your Camp-let with a fridge, mains electricity
and a full 12 volt system, complete with leisure battery.
The Camp-let can give you all the luxuries of a folding
camper but has the advantage of a compact trailer, it
is proving to be a real winner!

For the last two years running the Camp-let was voted
"BEST LIGHTWEIGHT TRAILER TENT" over £3100.
The competition is run by the Caravan Club at the National
Exhibition Centre at Birmingham. The Camp-let was competing
against leading UK and European Trailer Tent manufacturers.
Judges were looking for overall design strengths, including,
ease of use, erecting and packing away, comfort, value
for money and quality.
QUALITY FROM THE ROAD UP
To see the Camp-let in the flesh, is too appreciate
its quality, which becomes immediately apparent the
moment you set eyes on it. The robust body shell is
manufactured from very strong fibreglass, which gives
the Camp-let the deceptive appearance of being much
heavier than it actually is; in fact the Camp-let's
starting weight is just 250 kg, incredibly light for
any trailer tent. Driving with Camp-let is such a pleasure,
its excellent driving characteristics, unobstructed
rear view, good petrol economy and classic design has
made the Camp-let trailer a popular travel companion
throughout the UK and Europe.
HARD TOP
The Camp-let comes as standard with a hard top and luggage
rack. The lockable hard top is a big advantage over
it's rivals as it provides a safe and secure trailer
with the ability to store additional equipment on top.
It is no problem to carry bikes - top box - cases -
wind surfer - small boat or fishing gear.
CANVAS
The Camp-let canvas is manufactured by Isabella, a leading
European awning manufacturer. The canvas fabric used
by Isabella is supplied by Ten Cate, who are recognised
as the worlds best tent cloth manufacturers (as depicted
by the Ten Cate logo below). The canvas is heavier than
typically used within trailer tent design, with the
wall fabric weighted at 285grams/m2
and the roof weighted even heavier at 320 grams/m2.
The Camp-let is therefore equipped with a canvas of
some pedigree that guarantees long life and offers very
high levels of resistance to degradation, caused by
harmful UV-rays, winds and general handling. The canvas
is manufactured to a higher standard than normal with
detail to reinforcement on pegging points, main stitching
areas and 6 corner areas in the roof canvas.
BUILT TO LAST
There would be no point equipping the Camp-let with
a canvas of such longevity if the rest of the trailer
tent were not as well thought through. Camp-let is constructed
from the best quality materials, which promise to provide
the benefit of long life and low maintenance. Evidence
of Camp-lets equal conviction to its manufacturing processes
comes in the form of a 1982 Camp-let, owned by a Camperlands
sales advisor, who has reliably informed us that, '
It is still going strong'. Camp-lets are manufactured
using rust free components, from the galvanised chassis
and stainless steel screws to the lid hinges and fastening
catches. There is nothing else to compare to the Camp-let,
so its no surprise that second hand Camp-lets are hard
to come buy with satisfied customers holding onto them
or handing them down through family and friend networks.
DESIGN - EASE OF USE - ERECTING
With 5 models to choose from, any Camp-let, BOTH CABIN
AND AWNING can be erected in approximately one minute.
The cabin is non pegging like a folding camper. The
main awning frame is pre-assembled and already attached
to the trailer, which unfolds from the trailer in a
pram hood action. A small amount of pegging is required
and you are more or less there. Basically you can arrive
on-site and in 5 to 8 minutes you can relax, your Camp-let
is ready for use. |
