Khyam tent flysheet's are manufactured from
PU coated synthetic fabric called Weatherweave
5000™ (please note that Weatherweave 5000
relates in no way to the fabrics hydrostatic
head resistance). All synthetic fabrics suffer
a degree of condensation dependant upon conditions
and so in order to reduce this natural phenomena,
Khyam have built a number of ventilation systems
into all their tent ranges. All Khyam outer
tent fabrics have flame retardant treatment,
an essential process that greatly reduces the
risk of personal injury in the event of fire.
The hydrostatic head capacity of the Khyam Flexi-dome
range is 2500mm, the Ridgi-dome's and Ridgi-pod's
have a HH of 3000mm. The hydrostatic head pressure
test is used to measure how waterproof various
tent fabrics are by placing a vertical column
of water directly over the fabric. The height
of the water column is increased until the water
pressure forces the water to pass through the
fabric, the height of the water is measured,
the greater the height the greater the fabrics
waterproof properties.
All Khyam inner tents are equipped with secondary
mosquito net doors and double zip sliders to
promote ventilation. The inner doors can be
rolled up or tied back for clear access and
all inner tents can be easily detached from
the flysheet and folded back or removed. Never
cook inside your tent, synthetic fabrics will
melt and could even catch fire lf they come
into contact with a flame or very hot object.
