Camperlands Celebrates NEC Success
(Latest News - 27th November 2009)Despite the current economic climate, it seems one camping equipment firm is thriving. Camperlands, which offers a wide range of tents, sleeping bags and campervan equipment, showcased its products at the International Caravan & Motorhome Show last month at the Birmingham NEC Arena and has since seen an increase in the number of enquiries and sales.
Dominic Ryder, Managing Director of Camperlands, the Manchester-based firm which, also offers trailer tents, motorhome equipment and caravan accessories said, “The exhibition was a real success, in more ways than one. Firstly, we have had more sales enquiries on the phone, in addition to more customers visiting our showroom. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the show gave our team the opportunity to reach out to attendees and to really engage with similar-minded people.
“The team at Camperlands is committed to providing high levels of customer service and we found that interacting and engaging with potential customers and simply people who have very similar leisure interests to us was a good way to explore this.”
There was plenty to do for all of the family and was a great day out as the exhibition featured free caravan and motorhome ’20 minute make-over’ sessions, party racing on a specially constructed race circuit and an entertaining KidZone, keeping children well-entertained.
Camperlands, one of the UK’s leading providers of camping equipment, saw an increased interest in its range of caravan accessories and caravan equipment at the exhibition, placing Camperlands in a strong position as families will soon start to prepare for Spring and Summer breaks.
There has also been suggestion that, especially given the current economic climate, many Brits are in favour of ‘staycations’, as opposed to travelling abroad, which has also contributed to increased sales.
Steve Trossell, product director of the Swift Group, said, “We think that potential for first-time buyers [of caravans] in the market is strong at the moment and it is the ‘staycation’ trend which is driving this.”
This suggests that the potential for those needing or searching for caravan accessories is just as strong, good news for Camperlands.
Mr. Ryder added, “Our customers know of our commitment to providing high-quality products at the lowest possible prices, which is why they keep coming back to us. The recent exhibition was a great way to build on our current customer base and we encourage all of our customers and camping enthusiasts to also keep in touch with us via our Twitter profile and our Facebook group.”
About Camperlands:
Camperlands Ltd was founded by the late and much missed Mike and Peggy Ryder in 1968. The original concept was to hire frame tents out in the summer season to generate some extra income for their growing family. Today there are quite literally thousands of caravan, camping and motorhome accessories in stock, with several covered display areas dedicated to trailer tents, tents and folding campers.
