| The Fiamma
Carry-bike is the original cycle carrier for the
motorhome and caravan. Made of non corroding and
lightweight materials such as aluminium, high
strength plastic and stainless steel the Carry-bike
is of superior quality. The carry bike can transport
most sizes of bike, including mountain bikes and
racing bikes.
There are almost 40 bike racks in the Carry-bike
range, suitable for most types of caravan, motor
caravan and camper van are catered for. Depending
upon model of Carry-bike, up to four bikes can
be carried in total safety, as each Fiamma Carry-bike
goes through rigorous testing before it's approved
by the German Quality Test Institute (TUV).

| 1. HOW DO FIAMMA CARRY-BIKES
FIT? |
| The Fiamma Carry-bike is
fitted in a variety of ways, the method of installation
is largely dependant upon the model of motorhome the
Carry-bike is required to fit. Some Carry-bikes can
be fitted to a number of motorhome models, whereas other
Carry-bikes are manufactured for use with a specific
type or model of motorhome. For example, the Fiamma
Carry-bike Pro C utilizes 4 through-the-wall brackets,
which secure the Carry-bike safely to the rear wall
of the motorhome. The 4 mounting brackets are supplied
with 2 bolts each, which pass through the vehicles rear
wall and are secured internally. The Carry-bike Pro
C is commonly fitted to coach built motor caravans that
have a fitted rear window (fits directly below the window
allowing the window to still open). A good example of
a Carry-bike model, which has been designed for a particular
model of motorhome would be the VW T4, as the name suggests
this extremely popular Carry-bike has been specifically
manufactured to fit the VW T4 Transporter camper van.
The Carry-bike VW T4 does not require drilling for installation,
instead it conveniently hooks over and under the rear
tailgate and can easily be removed if desired.

| 2. WHY ARE FIAMMA CARRY-BIKES
MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER BRANDS? |
| Fiamma Carry-bikes are made
to very high standards using quality materials, which
do not corrode. Aluminium makes up for most of the Carry-bike
and so is extremely lightweight, yet strong and has
an attractive finish. Also many Carry-bike models are
manufactured for a particular model of camper van or
motorhome, because of this production costs tend to
be higher compared to cycle racks designed for a much
wider market. Fiamma Carry-bikes are manufactured in
Italy and not mass produced in the far East.

| 3. HOW MANY BIKES WILL
THE CARRY BIKE CARRY? |
This depends
on the model of Carry-bike but as a rule nearly all Carry-bikes
are supplied with two rails initially, with the option
to add up to 2 more. The number of bikes a Carry-bike
can support is also relative to the amount of weight the
carrier will hold, a 4-bike carrier will hold up to 60
kg, a 3-bike carrier 50 kg and a 2-bike carrier 35 kg.

| 4. WILL I STILL BE ABLE
TO USE MY MOTORHOMES REAR DOOR? |
If you are fitting a Carry-bike
to a camper van such as a Ford Transit or VW with singe
or double doors you will still be able to use the door.
If the door lifts up and over you will need to offer manual
support to the door at all times, because the additional
weight will not be supported by the vehicles shock absorbers.
If your camper has a high top roof you may find that it
prevents the tailgate from reaching its maximum vertical
position, restricting to a certain extent access into
the back of the vehicle.

| 5. CAN I LOCK MY CYCLES
TO THE CARRY-BIKE? |
| If you already have a Carry-bike
it maybe possible to purchase a pair of Fiamma Locks,
which replace the standard Bike Block star nuts, enabling
the Bike Blocks to be locked onto the carrier and to
the bike frame. Newer Carry-bikes are supplied with
Bike Blocks that have a star nut at one end and a strap
at the other. The use of this strap prevents the Fiamma
Locks from working on the bike frame. There are a number
of security products on the market that allow you to
chain the bikes to the Carry-bike, please contact our
mail order department for details of what we have available.
The Carry-bike maybe locked to the wall brackets by
using the Fiamma Anti-theft Pro or the Fiamma Anti-theft
Universal Kit. These kits include a padlock and a special
nut and bolt, which replaces the standard bolt supplied
with the standard wall bracket installation kit. The
special round nut incorporates a recess for the padlock
to fit into, thus preventing the nut from being unscrewed
from the bolt once secured.

| 6. WILL I HAVE ROOM
TO FIT A LADDER NEXT TO THE CARRY-BIKE? |
| This depends upon the type
of vehicle you intend to fit the Carry-bike and ladder
to and the space available. Most coach built motor caravan
rear walls have adequate space to fit a combination
of ladder and carrier however, it's important to check
if there are any objects such as fridge vents obstructing
potential installation points. Sometimes the shape of
the rear panel can make installation potentially challenging.
Installing a Carry-bike and ladder to smaller motorhomes
and campers can be more difficult purely because of
the vehicles size restrictions and complications caused
by the configuration of the rear door/s. If the Carry-bike
is too close to the ladder it maybe that the cycle carrier
will not open fully or close as it should. For campers
and motorhome's with double rear doors the ideal combination
would be the Carry-bike 200 DJ and Deluxe 6 DJ Ladder,
these two products allow the cycle carrier and the ladder
to be fitted within very close proximity to one another
without interference.

| 7. ARE SPARE PARTS READILY
AVAILABLE FOR THE CARRY-BIKE? |
