Fiamma Caravanstore and ZIP
FAQ's |
 |
| The Fiamma Caravanstore
and Caravanstore Zip awnings have become one of
the must have essentials for the modern caravanner.
The Caravanstore is ideal for short breaks particularly
in fair weather, where it offers convenient shade
from the occasional shower and excessive sunlight.
The Caravanstore can be erected and packed away
in a couple of minutes, so has a distinct advantage
over a traditional full or porch awning.
The Caravanstore Zip is supplied complete with
Caravanstore, front and side panels and 3 pairs
of curtains, pegs, guylines and a Megabag. The
Fiamma Caravanstore Zip quickly turn the Caravanstore
into a fully fledged caravan awning whilst still
retaining its lightweight and convenience advantages. |

| 1. HOW DOES THE CARAVANSTOR
ATTACH TO THE CARAVAN? |
| Initially it is easier
to fit the Caravanstore with 2-people, one to support
the roller and another to feed it into the caravans
awning rail. Simply unzip the Caravanstore from its
vinyl bag and detach the velcro retaining straps to
release the Caravanstore. The vinyl bag of the Caravanstore
incorporates a cord identical to that of a traditional
caravan awning or porch, in just the same way as a caravan
awning this cord must be feed into the caravans awning
rail to support the Caravanstore. In order to do this
you must first unroll the Caravanstore enough to allow
the bag to be manipulated into the bottom of the rail.
Continue this process until the Caravanstore is positioned
in the horizontal section of the awning rail.
Tip. apply a small amount of silicone to the
awning rail to aid this process.
|
| 2. WHAT LENGTH IS MOST
SUITABLE FOR MY CARAVAN? |
| The million dollar question,
unfortunately there are no application references to
follow, so it's best to measure the straight horizontal
section of your caravans awning rail. The sizes available
refer to the bag length of the Caravanstore not the
fabric width (1.9m, 2.25m, (Caravanstore only) 2.55m,
2.8m, 3.1m, 3.6m, 4.0m and 4.4m). The Caravanstore will
tolerate a gradually slope from one end of the caravan
to the other but it's always best to get a second opinion
before you place your order if your unsure.
|
| 3. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT
SIZE OF CARAVANSTORE ZIP TO BUY? |
| The Fiamma Caravanstore
ZIP is suitable for most makes and model of caravan
however, the optimum height from the ground to
the awning rail is 250 cm (B), simply lower or
raise the front two adjustable leg supports to
set the awnings panels to the required position.
Please refer to question 2.
regarding Caravanstore length suitability.

| 4. HOW STABLE IN THE
CARAVANSTORE/ZIP DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER? |
| The Caravanstore has been
designed for use during fair weather, it is made of
lightweight matertials that are not designed to withstand
heavy rains and strong winds. Therefore we do not recommend
you leave the Caravanstore up for prolonged peiods unattended
or overnight, a period of time where the weather can
change drastically. The Caravanstore vinyl canopy provides
an addtional useable area, blocking out excessive sunlight
and light rain. The inconvenience caused by and the
restrictions of its use, are minimal due its 1-2 minute
set-up and pack away times.
When the Caravanstore Zip awning is fitted with the
supplied front and side panels the strength and stability
of the product is increased dramatically. The panels
are equiped with an inner mudwall pegging system and
lower outer mudwall pegging points. The panels themselves
prevent the wind from penetrating under the canopy and
lifting it, a main cause of Caravanstore damage. There
are also additional roof/leg supports provided with
the Zip version of the Caravanstore and these increase
the stability of the framework, which aids the resistance
to strong winds and heavy rain. We always recomend the
use of a centre rafter and in case of rain drop one
of the legs down to provide a steep pitch for the rain
water to run from. Otherwise the water will collect
and well in the centre of the vinyl caopy, eventually
the aluminium legs will collapse under the excess weight
of the water. Exercise common sense at all times.
Many people use Fiamma Tie-Down Kits to anchor the
awning down but it's important to respect the limitations
of such a system and acknowledge that sometimes it will
be necessary to simply pack the awning away. We also
recommend the use of the optional Fiamma roof rafter
poles, which retail between £12.00 and £30.00.
